A Class A commercial driver’s license is required to operate most commercial tractor trailers (CDL). Every state requires that you pass the CDL exam before you may drive a truck. The CDL test is intended to guarantee that all commercial drivers are experts in their industry and that they comply with all medical and safety regulations. You must complete the following prerequisites in order to take the CDL exam and get an unrestricted interstate CDL:

You must be 21 years old.
Show that you’re healthy enough to drive a truck with a Medical Examiner’s Report.
To be able to drive an automobile, you must have a valid driver’s license.
Must have a current Social Security Card
